With an ever-increasing population of athletic women who desire a healthy and active lifestyle, the Women’s Orthopaedic Center at Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists is one of the only orthopaedic programs in the nation dedicated solely to women. We are committed to providing exemplary care in order to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, evaluation and management of female musculoskeletal injuries.

Drs. Aimee Klapach, Margarita Sevilla, and Lisa Wasserman head up the team of specialized experts dedicated to women’s musculoskeletal injuries, health, and rehabilitation. Dr. Klapach is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in operative sports medicine and treatment of injuries to the shoulder and knee. Dr. Wasserman is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery, as well as lower extremity alignment. Both have expertise which encompasses advanced arthroscopic techniques as well as complex reconstructive surgery. Dr. Sevilla is a sports medicine physician who specializes in non-operative orthopedic injuries and endurance athletes, and she possesses a wealth of personal experience as a competitive female athlete herself.
Led by three of the leading female fellowship-trained orthopaedic physicians in the United States, the Women’s Orthopaedic Center in Edina, Minnesota is uniquely poised to serve female athletes and women of all ages. The Women’s Orthopaedic Center encompasses a nationally recognized research program, direct care of several competitive women’s athletic teams, distinctively focused patient education, sensitivity to women’s differences, and a wide-ranging network of experts in all elements of women’s health.
