Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists Providers Recognized for Patient Communication

Created on: Tuesday, September 08, 2020

Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists, part of Allina Health providers have a long established history of a focus on patient care and communication. Part of our core approach is ensuring each patient has an understanding of their condition and treatment options available to them. We're pleased to announce a number of our providers were acknowledged for 2020  Allina Health Patient Communication Awards

Allina Health has recognized clinicians since 2014 who excel at Patient Communication with Summa Awards (>99th National Percentile) and Magna Awards (>90th National Percentile). These awards do not just represent a number on a patient experience scale or a popularity contest - they represent a person’s sense that they are known as unique individuals, how well they feel listened to, and how well they understand their medications and instructions.  Communication skills enable beneficial care outcomes for our patients through better adherence to treatment plans and Allina Health’s financial viability through their willingness to recommend care to friends and family.

Patient Communication Awards are based on 12 months of data for the Provider Communication Dimension of the CG CAHPS Survey, which consists of 6 questions. The percentiles are based on the Press Ganey national database of more than 2 million survey responses for clinicians with at least 55 responses in the last 12 months.
