Dr. Folsom is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, knee and sports medicine injuries.  He holds additional board certification in orthopaedic sports medicine.  His clinical expertise and interests include: shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability reconstruction, total shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, patellar instability reconstruction, total knee replacement, distal biceps (elbow) repair and sports medicine.  He has provided numerous volunteer hours as a sideline sports medicine physician for several teams at all levels of competition for the past 20+ years.  He currently serves as team physician for Minnesota United FC and Wayzata High School.  Outside of his clinical practice, he is active in education of the orthopaedic community, having served as an examiner for the ABOS, member of the AAOS Shoulder & Elbow Instructional Course Committee and AAOS Sports Medicine Program Committee among others.
