Internship Program

2014 Summer Interns catching a Twins game

The Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists intern program was established in 2003 to provide outstanding college students pursuing a career in sports medicine an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the various components of a medical practice. The intern program consists of three core components: Administrative, Educational, and Clinical. While in the program, participants work closely with orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, physician's assistants, physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, and a PhD biomechanist. Participants are expected to attend weekly Grand Rounds presentations to review anatomy, pathology, procedures and treatments. In addition, each participant will complete a presentation based on their internship experience and future educational and career goals.
